Welcome to Scouts

Scouts started the autumn term with a fantastic range of activities both on site and off site, and in fact it seemed we have rarely been in the hall.

They have made good use of Bourne Copse in Virginia Water this term where they have enjoyed and experienced building and controlling camp fires, open camp fire cooking with good old sausages and jacket potatoes.

The Scouts took part in going to an outside area away from Virginia Water, at Chobham Common where they were shown the skills of map reading with their leaders and had the opportunity to put this into practise.

Use has been made of the Walton Firs Activity Centre near Cobham to experience caving and taking part in an assault course. Now that is where team building skills come into practise!

A group of Scouts went light weight camping and hiking in the Chilterns at half term, putting into practice new skills.

As the real autumn evenings draw in after half term, the Scouts are mainly based at the hall, working towards their model making badge. Just one of the many badge challenges to achieve.
